4.5% of Smith County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Smith County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 254 people out of the 14,483 living in Smith County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Smith County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Smith County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.8%.
