6.8% of citizens unemployed in Simpson County in 2021

Simpson County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 732 people out of the 26,064 living in Simpson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Simpson County has decreased compared to the 7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Simpson County was nearly equal to the statewide unemployment rate of 6.8%.

Of the 9,988 people who had a job during that time, 27 were employed in the Armed Forces and 9,961 belonged to the civilian labor force.
