Enrollment by Ethnicity: White was most represented background in Scott County School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 45.9% of the 3,875 students enrolled in Scott County School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 3.8% increase over the previous school year.

Scott Central Attendance Center had the highest enrollment in the district with 865 students.

A snapshot of Scott County School District schools showed 45.9% of students were white, 35.2% were Black, 13.7% were Hispanic, and 2.2% multiracial.

Scott County School District roughly covers eight schools and has a main office in Lake.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
