Smith County Emergency Management Knowledge & Skills in Entering a Grain Bin

This course was great! It was very informative and engaging. I would recommend this course to others, who are looking to improve their knowledge and skills.

One of the most dangerous jobs on a farm is entering a grain bin. Farmers enter bins to break up clumps so the grain can move freely, once the clumps are broken up it causes the grain to move again, causing the farmer inside the bin to become buried or trapped. Within 15 seconds a farmer can be buried in grain up to their waist and completely submerged with 30 seconds.
