Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates and reflections on social media about local recognition, historical figures, and border security efforts.

On April 17, 2026, Guest posted about a meeting with Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill during her visit to Washington D.C., stating: “It was great to visit with Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill when she was in D.C. Starkville was, for the third year in a row, voted the best small town in the South. I am proud to represent the great people who call Starkville home.”

Later that day, Guest marked the 250th anniversary of American independence by highlighting notable signers of the Declaration of Independence. In his post from April 17, he wrote: “Fun Fact Friday: As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, I want to highlight some of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Dr. Benjamin Rush was one of the most educated signers of the Declaration of Independence. Fluent in French, Italian, and”

On April 18, Guest addressed his role as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement. He stated: “As the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, I want to highlight some of the dangerous individuals captured by the Department of Homeland Security. It is my goal to keep you updated on the great work our men and women in law enforcement are doing to”

Michael Guest has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Gregg Harper (source). Born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 and now residing in Brandon at age 53, Guest graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS degree before earning a JD from the University of Mississippi (source).
