Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his social media account reflecting on recent national events and personal losses.
On July 14, 2025, Guest addressed the anniversary of a significant event in American politics. He stated, “Today marks one year since the assassination attempt on President Trump. The events of July 13th should stand as a constant reminder that political violence is wrong. All Americans should condemn acts of violence against our elected officials.”
The following day, July 15, he shared condolences regarding the passing of a prominent religious leader. Guest wrote, “Haley and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Rev. John MacArthur, but we rejoice that he is now home with his Heavenly Father. MacArthur has shown us how to fight the good fight and finish the race well.”
On July 16, Guest commented on federal funding related to immigration policy under the current administration: “These groups that received billions in taxpayer funding would prove instrumental in helping the Biden-Harris administration process and release a historic number of illegal aliens into our communities.”
Guest has served as Mississippi’s 3rd District representative since 2019 after succeeding Gregg Harper. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970, Guest currently resides in Brandon. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi in 1995.
