Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on March 11 and 12, 2026, highlighting community recognitions, agricultural discussions, and criticisms regarding federal law enforcement funding.
On March 11, Guest shared news about a recent honor presented to a retired official: “My District Director Brady Stewart was honored to present Janita Stewart, retired Small Business Administration District Director, an extension of remarks for her 50 years of service. During her half century of service at SBA, Janita helped thousand of businesses and business” (March 11, 2026).
Later that day, Guest described his meeting with members of the agricultural sector: “I enjoyed visiting with the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation’s Emerging Leaders group this week to discuss their priorities and the challenges facing our agriculture producers. I am grateful for the hardworking farmers who feed our great nation and help feed the world.” (March 11, 2026).
On March 12, Guest criticized Democratic lawmakers over Department of Homeland Security funding: “As Democrats play political games and keep the Department of Homeland Security closed, Americans are less safe. Since Democrats have cut off funding to federal law enforcement we have seen:
– Terrorist inspired shooting in Austin
– Attack on a synagogue in Michigan
– School” (March 12, 2026).
Guest has represented Mississippi’s 3rd congressional district since replacing Gregg Harper in 2019. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 and currently residing in Brandon at age 53, he holds degrees from Mississippi State University (BS) and the University of Mississippi (JD).
