Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district and serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, posted a series of updates on social media in late February 2026. His posts highlighted his anticipation for President Trump’s State of the Union address and detailed recent outreach efforts with local leaders in Mississippi.

On February 25, Guest posted about preparations for the State of the Union: “I am getting ready for President Trump’s State of the Union later tonight. As the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, I am looking forward to President Trump highlighting wins at the border. See below for month by month wins in 2025: https://t.co/FEPiKlgPdc”. In a nearly identical post moments later, he reiterated his expectations for the address: “I am getting ready for President Trump’s State of the Union later tonight. As the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement, I am looking forward to President Trump highlighting wins at the border. See below for month by month wins in 2025: https://t.co/UUZ9Gp7hcp”.

Two days later, on February 26, Guest shared details about his ongoing meetings with local officials across Mississippi: “My Mississippi and D.C. teams were in Brandon today discussing local priorities and future infrastructure projects with local community leaders. This week we will also be visiting Brookhaven, Meridian, Starkville, and Prentiss to meet with community leaders across the Third https://t.co/kvuhjddh2p”.

Guest has served as U.S. Representative since 2019 after succeeding Gregg Harper. He was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 but currently resides in Brandon, Mississippi. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University (1993) and a law degree from the University of Mississippi (1995).
