Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to comment on the anniversary of a major international event and ongoing domestic legislative issues.
On October 7, 2025, Guest posted about the two-year anniversary of an attack on Israel by Hamas, stating, “Today marks two years since Israel was brutally attacked by Hamas. Since that fateful day, Israel has stood firm. America has continued to support our greatest ally in the Middle East as it fights to protect its homeland. I am proud to stand with the State of Israel.”
Two days later, on October 9, 2025, Guest addressed concerns about government funding and military pay during a potential shutdown. He wrote, “As Republicans wait on the Democrats to reopen the government, it is important that we continue to pay our troops. Our service members should never be used as a pawn in a government shutdown. I am a proud cosponsor of the Pay Our Troops Act of 2026.” In a separate post on the same day, he reiterated this position: “As Republicans wait on the Democrats to reopen the government, it is important that we continue to pay our troops. Our service members should never be used as a pawn in a government shutdown.”
Guest has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Gregg Harper and currently resides in Brandon, Mississippi. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970, he earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University and later received his law degree from the University of Mississippi.
