Jackson State Tigers, featuring former Mendenhall High School standout Darius Dampier, were defeated 24-2 by the Nicholls State Colonels in an NCAA Division I baseball game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.

Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field served as host for the teams’ first meeting of the season.

Dampier gave up two earned runs in 0.2 innings pitched and allowed three walks.

The Tigers are set to play again on Friday, March 13, at 3 p.m., taking on Texas Southern Tigers at MacGregor Park-Neagle Field.
