David Henry Joins Merit Health Madison as New CEO

Merit Health Madison has named David C. Henry, FACHE, as the new Chief Executive Officer.

“I am excited to work with and support the employees and medical staff as Merit Health Madison continues to provide the people in our community the best possible care every time they choose us,” said Henry.  

Henry’s healthcare background is diverse, as he has success in physician recruiting, patient experience and operations of multiple clinical and non-clinical departments through his 15 years of experience in executive and operations management positions.

In his most recent role as Chief Executive Officer at Merit Health Central in Jackson, Henry has demonstrated his leadership expertise by leading through key strategic initiatives for both the hospital and the Merit Health Market while also enhancing a culture of patient satisfaction and safety.  

“David has the leadership, experience, energy and passion for healthcare that we feel are needed to continue to further enhance and grow the hospital,” said Randall Strong, R.ph, Chairman of the Board at Merit Health Madison. 

David earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and his master of Business Administration and a master of Science in Health Administration degrees from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.   

He is very active in the community, serving on the Board for Goodwill Industries of Mississippi and the American Cancer Society.  He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
