Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account reflecting on historical milestones, community engagement, and local economic development.

On February 22, 2026, Guest commemorated the birthday of America’s first president by sharing a historical note: “Today is the birthday of President George Washington. Did you know that on January 8, 1790, President Washington delivered to Congress his First Annual Address to Congress, a precursor to what would become the annual State of the Union address? This landmark address covered key”.

The following day, February 23, 2026, Guest highlighted a recent sporting event involving a state university leader: “It was great to see USM President Joe Paul at the Round Rock Baseball Classic this weekend. SMTTT!”

Later that same day, he acknowledged local economic growth through his staff’s participation in a business event: “My district director, Brady Stewart, attended the Bank of Commerce ribbon cutting in Gluckstadt. As we see continued economic growth across our state, it is important to have financial institutions that will invest in our local communities to support new business and industry.”

Michael Guest has served as representative for Mississippi’s 3rd District since replacing Gregg Harper in 2019. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 and currently residing in Brandon at age 53, Guest holds degrees from Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi.
