Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing recent events and commemorations.
On September 10, 2025, Guest shared news regarding conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In his post, he wrote, “Haley and I are heartbroken to learn that Charlie Kirk passed away today after being shot as he spoke to students at Utah Valley State University. Charlie was a husband, father, and a leader in the conservative movement whose influence will live on long after his death.”
The following day marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks. On September 11, 2025, Guest stated: “Today marks 24 years since the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001. My staff and I were honored to take time to remember the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the families who continue to carry the weight of that day.”
In another post from September 11, Guest described an encounter with Nellie Neumann: “I was honored to talk with Nellie Neumann, who was working at the Capitol as a tour guide, and hear her story about her experience on 9/11. Thank you, Nellie, for sharing and remembering the lives of those who died on that tragic day 24 years ago.”
Michael Guest has served as a member of Congress since replacing Gregg Harper in 2019. He was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 and currently resides in Brandon. Guest holds degrees from Mississippi State University (BS) and earned his JD from the University of Mississippi in 1995.
