Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on February 20 and 21, 2026, addressing law enforcement recognition, American history, and public safety.

On February 20, Guest shared his thoughts after a visit to the Simpson County memorial for fallen heroes: “Chad Dixon visited the Simpson County memorial to fallen heroes with Chief Investigator Chris Wallace and Sheriff Paul Mullins. It is important that we continue to remember the sacrifice of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.”

Later that day, he highlighted historical figures from American history as part of an ongoing celebration: “Fun Fact Friday: As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence, I want to highlight some of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. George Walton was born in Virginia but moved to Georgia to study law. As a young man, he taught himself to read and write” (posted February 20).

On February 21, Guest addressed recent actions by federal law enforcement: “This week, I want to highlight some of the dangerous individuals who were captured by the Department of Homeland Security as part of its surge in Minnesota. It is important that we not lose sight of the work our men and women in law enforcement are doing to keep our communities”.

Guest has served Mississippi’s 3rd District since replacing Gregg Harper in 2019. He was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 and currently resides in Brandon. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS degree in 1993 and earned his JD from the University of Mississippi two years later.
