Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on his recent activities through several social media posts on November 18, 2025.

In a post made at 17:02 UTC, Guest highlighted his visit to Oxford over the weekend, stating: “It was great to be in Oxford this weekend to see Ole Miss defeat Florida. I want to thank the Chancellor and Emily for their hospitality and for all that they do on behalf of the University and our state.” The message acknowledged both the outcome of a college football game and expressed gratitude towards university officials.

Later that day at 21:49 UTC, Guest posted about an encounter with a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) service animal. He wrote: “It was an honor to meet CBP K-9 Freddie the Beagle today on Capitol Hill. Freddie was physically assaulted at Dulles International Airport by an Egyptian foreign national who was discovered to have contraband in his possession.”

In a subsequent tweet at the same time, he discussed legislative developments following the incident involving Freddie: “As a result of this assault, Representative Ken Calvert introduced legislation to make it a federal crime to injure a public service animal. I’m glad to see the Bow Wow Act passed out of the House Judiciary Committee today.”

Michael Guest has served as the U.S. Representative for Mississippi’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Gregg Harper. He is currently based in Brandon and was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970. Guest holds degrees from Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi School of Law.
