Congressman Michael Guest, who represents Mississippi’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media addressing energy policy and a recent shooting incident in Texas.
On September 23, 2025, Guest wrote, “House Republicans are unleashing American energy dominance to lower costs for working families and ensure the reliability and stability of future energy sources.” In a subsequent post on the same day, he stated, “Republicans are working to reverse disastrous Biden-era policies, cut red tape to streamline the permitting process, and re-establish the National Coal Council to provide Americans with more dependable, abundant, affordable, and reliable energy.”
On September 24, 2025, Guest addressed a separate issue involving violence at an immigration facility. He posted: “Please join Haley and me in praying for the families of those affected by the shooting this morning at the ICE facility in Texas.”
Guest has represented Mississippi’s 3rd District since 2019 after succeeding Gregg Harper. Born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1970 and currently residing in Brandon, Guest holds degrees from Mississippi State University (BS) and the University of Mississippi (JD).
